Escrima/Kali Program







A student in the art of Kali will be learning all the varios ranges of fighting utilizing both weaponry and empty hands interchangeably.  It is designed to teach the concepts of fighting in a simplistic methodology to provide the greatest chances to keep you protected in all situations.

Each student will start learning single stick fighting from day one.  After becoming familiar with the stick a student will progress to the knife, and then empty hand translations.

Weapons Based Training
consists of: single stick, double stick, single knife, double knives, Espada y Daga (sword and dagger).






Empty Hands Training will focus primarily on; Filipino boxing drills and techniques and low line kicking. Students will learn the effective use of elbows, knees, locks, traps, takedowns, ground fighting, and loose grappling.

As a student progresses in their training they will develop better awareness, sensitivity, coordination, and quick reflex  reaction.  They will be able to flow and act instinctively against single and multiple opponents in all the various realms of fighting.

About the instructor:
Guro R.E.Lewis has been studying martial arts since 1995.  He began studying Tae Kwon Do for two and a half years.  During this time he also studied Maphilindo Silat and Jeet Kune do.  In 2001 he met his Punong Guro (Head Instructor) Tony Marcial.  He discovered that Kali was the art he had been looking for.  Guro R.E. spent every minute possible at the school, there was no where he would rather be.  His diligence paid off.  In 4 1/2 years, Guro R.E.
